Katie is a CHA Certified Riding Instructor. Katie fell in love with the sport of dressage at a young age and has dedicated her career to specializing in dressage. Katie say's, "No matter what discipline you do, dressage should be the base of your training. Dressage training will help the horse develop the correct way of moving and will also increase his training and skills." As well as dressage Katie also enjoys showing and training in Hunter/Jumper, Western Riding, Western Dressage and Cattle Sorting. Katie has ridden with many USDF Instructors and clinicians. Katie's program thrives on safety and she has all her students go through the CHA program, where they learn how to correctly and safely work around horses. Students that take part in lessons at Hedgebrook Riding School also learn how to properly care for horses, from grooming, to feeding, to first aid, to leg wrapping, etc. Students also learn how to care for their tack and do barn chores.
